What does “green” mean? Minimizing our impact on the environment – or “being green” – is not a fad at ImageX. It’s a corporate commitment we’ve been practicing for more than 20 years, long before it was widely popular.

To help you walk a greener energy path when purchasing print and promotional items, we’ll talk with you about all aspects of the products you order. You can consider price, recycled content, availability and whether the products are recyclable, biodegradable and compostable.

We’ll help you choose from an array of product options that respect and preserve the environment. Selected manufacturers now offer products made from biodegradable, compostable plastics; cellulose acetate (made from processed wood pulp); and PLA (a bioplastic made from renewable resources such as corn, soybeans and potatoes).

We work with partners who are as committed to “being green” as we are. They use only Soy inks and Aqueous coatings; operate in closed chemical environments to protect employees; and utilize proper chemical waste storage and disposal systems that meet all EPA regulations.

We partner with production facilities that are FSC Certified, EPA GreenE Power partners (producing from wind power), SFI certified mills (sustainable Forestry Initiative), members of Climate Partners, and Green Business certified, to name just a few.

About the FSC

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international organization that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forest.  FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.

FSC has offices in more than 46 countries. It provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry.
Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.

ImageX has been granted a Chain-of-Custody Certificate meaning that we meet strict tracking requirements for ensuring that products we sell as FSC-certified come from a well-managed forest.
